I saw someone who had 2 fans laying on the base of there case, and blowing upward does this accomplish anything, to me it seems like it wouldn't...seems like it can even ruin the fans if my understanding of fans is correct...?

just blowing on the flat bottom?
that is pointless!

It there are holes its fine (minus the Dust from the carpet).

depending the where the rest of your fans are it could be pointless. however, the idea of having fans at the bottom with a hole as some sort of intake and an exhaust on top would go well with the fact that hot air rises.

To me that doesn't seem like it would accomplish a lot, it would be just something more to have dust sucked into the pc.

not if you put a filter under each fan....my case has an entire mesh front used for intake, my case ambient temp is room temp and i get no dust b/c there is a filter on the entire inside of the mesh

lol well to clear all the air there were no holes or ne thing at the bottom just a fan sitting there blowing air... and since fans suck air from behind it then push it foward i mean no hole or anything renders it useless...
