6950x2 in case, have good airflow in my case.

The top Card during Dirt3 gaming reaches 48% fan and 68c core.

Would it be reasonable to put the cards at 42% fan speed until Core or VRAM hit 85c?


Both my cards have the Dual fan cooler that is effective and good cooler.
 
85C should not cause damage to most cards, but personally I like to try and keep my cards under 80C if possible. Of course if you're overclocking significantly 85C would be a realistic target.

What level of GPU utilization are you hitting on these cards in Dirt 3?
 
Yes, 85 is fine. Just keep an eye on VRM temps though, because dual fan cards like that usually only cool the GPU properly, VRAM cooling is often a lot poorer than stock coolers, you don't want to see the vregs too far over 100.

Both cards do hit the 100% GPU load at peak, but alot of levels only need 30-50 demand on core.

Demanding levels seem to be at 80% core load each but as I said there are spots where both reach 99-100%.

VRAM dedicated usage is 1500mb or 1800mb depending on level and dynamic is 300mb
Wierd thing is the dynamic is stable at 300mb, so some levels use 2.1GB VRAM(?!)

I accidentaly Overclocked the card to stock vcore 1.100 and 875/1325 and it actually was stable inside of DIRT3.

the temperature decreased 3-7c because less voltage and I now have window open so small room is not like a oven, vcore was earlier 1.125v

TOP GPU: PEAK Core: 63c, Absolute PEAK VRAM: 67c
BOTTOM GPU: PEAK Core: 58c, Absolute PEAK VRAM: 63c

The core usually is 3-6c less than PEAK, the VRAM is usually closer to PEAK 1-3c less.
