fan problem

hey guys.

i got a little prob. now i got this PSU from micro center which is 300 W. now as everyone i was putting another fan in. and when i hook it up the cd rom does not seem to work. but when i disconnect the fan the cd rom works. i dont know wats wrong. i know i just have to do something here which i m not aware of. any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.

All I can think of is some sort of loose connection. Power supplies are fairly straight forward. As long as you have both hooked up it shouldn't be a problem. Now, if that fan takes up a lot of power, it might cause problems, but that's not likely.

Double check your connections.
