I'm not sure if this is optimum or not but then again oh well, just want to see if this is fine or if one of these side ones should be switched.

3 intakes and 1 exhaust looks like some bad mojo to me. I personally would see how temps are with one of those side ones completely shut off before flipping it, as side fans are usually not in a good position to be exhausting air.

I usually don't consider PSU exhaust so much unless it's a dual-fan PSU that's sucking air out from the case. Regardless, I agree that I overlooked that.

Since you've got a 120 in, 2 80's in and 2 120s out (PSU and back) I'm sure you're fine.

Howabout disabling the fan right over your CPU? Sometimes forcing air into the HSF can have detrimental effects on your temperatures.

Here are my temps you guys tell me:
Idle: In my barely air conditioned room more like 2 fans blowing in here.
Speed fan: CPU 30C, Core 0 and 1 33C
I really doubt the 120mm in the front does much since I have metal crap in it's way and that HD rack and such blocking half of it.

Its not bad, but I would add at least a 150mm fan on the top of the case. It's very important.

And at least a 300mm fan on the bottom, too.
Sorry, but i don't see where this logic comes from. Yes, i'm sure it would help exhaust hot air, but it's not really related to the question of fan arrangement/direction Glow is asking. Plus, it would require modding the case.

I think your prospective setup looks good; although, you'll only be able to tell for sure by experimenting with different arrangements. Also try without the 2 80mm side fans, since they may just disrupt airflow inside the case and actually have adverse effects on cooling. Though, like you said, there may not be much airflow without them since the front intake fan is largely obstructed; in this case, i think you're probably better off having both side fans intake cool air.

Thats right, thats exactly what it would do. Having a fan on the top of the case is very important because as we all know, hot air rises up.
It may require case modding, but if he wasn't going to mod, then why ask us for help when he can't change anything? If the cooling sucked, asking us wouldn't help.

Someone has a broken sarcasm meter. :p

In my stacker most of the hot air goes out of the PS fan and the rear exhaust. I have a 120mm blowhole but what little air coming out of it is cool, so they're not useful in all cases. I would suggest to the OP to get a slot blower to suck hot air out from the video card area and balance out the airflow.

In a performance case I would want more exhaust fans because the negative pressure will help eliminate dead spots in the air flow.

I reversed the top air intake and made it an exhaust. I figured the 120mm with a 80mm blowing into it at it's side was counter productive. my temps have dropped at idle a cpl degrees so far. Well my CPU temp has gone down, my cores are about the same. I dunno what thats supposed to mean.

I'm thinking I'm going to leave the bottom one as a intake cause it blows over my XFI and gets air under my vid card and as that air gets warmer it'll rise and get blown out anyways what do you guys think?

I have a case of similar design to yours I have a 92mm side fan near the bottom of the case and it did enable me to put my side back on and have similar temps for the CPU and lowered my northbridge by about 6C.

I think that I have tried putting an 80mm fan on the upper part of my case side and I think it did not make much difference. I was actually thinking of putting it in a few minutes ago... :D
So if I put it in I will give you an update as the last time when it was in was quite a while a go - so I'm can't remember too well ATM.

i thought only girls use 80mm id make new window with 120+mm

Meh I already have 2 120mm and the holes are already cut for the 80mm ones.

Well I had to increase my voltage a bit for my cpu last night and now it's a bit warmer in here today too. so my temps are back up actually higher than they were before.
CPU idle at 39 Cores around 35 <-- My temps prior to restarting, now 29 and 31 for the cores. Whats the deal with that in Vista? What would be running idle that would be heating it up?
I would have figured they'de still be a bit lower but I dunno. Maybe I'll flip my bottom one to an exhaust too. Still odd since the air coming out of the exhaust doesn't even feel warm but speed fan is reading the temps as such.

well vista has that aero stuff that is constantly making your gfx card work a little.. cant you check and see what uses what..?
