Fan Placement on Cooler Master 690

I'm going to be purchasing a CM690. I was planning to buy two additional 120mm fans to put on top as exhaust, and then move the included side fan to the bottom to be used as intake. This would let me have three exhaust at the top/rear ends and two intake at the bottom/front ends of the case.

I'm also going to be purchasing an E8400 and GTX 260. I don't plan to do any overclocking; but if I do, it will only be on the CPU and only lightly because I'll be running it with the stock cooler. There will also only be one HDD and one DVD drive.

Will my fan selection be sufficient to keep things running cool? Thanks.

If you're not running many HD's and not planning on OC'ing i don't see you having any cooling problems. Bone stock, the CM 690 puts out some nice airflow. So an addition of a couple fans could only help.

Okay, thanks. My main concern was about not having a side fan, but I see a lot of cases that just have glass panels with no side fan, so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal. I read a lot of comments about the side fan on the CM690 making an annoying buzzing sound, and I'm not up to the task of toying with things like that, so I figured I'd just not keep one there at all.

Yeah, I wouldn't stick a fan on the side panel. On my 590 (same interior as 690), I have two intakes, two top exhausts, and one rear exhaust, and it cools really well. Your planned setup sounds great to me.

Your plan sounds good. Plus, with all of that exhaust, it will passively pull air in through the side vents.
