Well, i have one of my coolmaster fans (the one that came with the case) connected to the mobo and it doesnt seem to light up bright. I have 5 more of the exact same one from newegg arriving tomorrow. Will they be brighter when connected by 4 pin?
 
Well, my blue one is very bright when connected to a 4 pin molex with the adapter. You might want to take a multimeter and see what the exact voltage is on the 3 pin connector from your mobo.
