Fan header splitter use?

i could really use an extra 3pin header so i can replace a tricool fan with something more automatically adjusting.

i have two SickleFlow 120 2000 RPM that are intake. i would like these two fans to work on the same header. i have the adapter, but id like to know if the adjusting software will work. will the RPMs indicated be an average or a sum of the two fans? will the fan speed percentages i set be accurate? (maybe i set 50% and it makes both fans 25%)

i dont really have the technical understanding of how fans report their rpm and how the motherboard determines what %100 fan speed is so i would be unable to troubleshoot.

in order to put the fan splitter in i will have to remove two 5850 and the four pci express 6 pin adapters, so i would like to find out if it will work in an acceptable way before i undertake all that wiring again..

the motherboard is a Asus P6X58D-E and im wanting to connect it to fan header 3.

Most of those splitters only use 1 RPM wire from 1 fan...

Motherboards can use voltage to adjust the speed, or PWM wire if there is one.
