alright, im buying a new xp-90 to help with my temps, cause when the new pdp pc4000 RAM comes, im pushing that A64 2800+ to the max. what would you guys recommened for a fan to use on my soon to come xp-90. sound really isnt an issue for me, i just dont want anything that will be over 40-50 decibels or that whines immensely. right now i have 5 42 decibel fans and im roughly 20 feet from my computer, and can here it whirring to give you a sense oh how loud it really is. Money might be an issue, as im dropping 50 around 50 bucks at the most for a heatsink/fan combo. the xp120 wont fit my board. i foudn the xp-90 for 35 bucks on jabtech, so see what you guys can come up with for a fan choice. thanks

When I got mine from xoxide.com, I just ordered one of their fans. Got the aluminum case fan http://www.xoxide.com/92alcasfan.html which works fine, but the fa nbrackets wont fit it. I had to do alot of bending to make it hold ont othe fan.

You just need a fan with spaces at the corners like the cheap plastic black ones have. To make the brackets fit on perfectly.

the xp-90 is like 25 at svc.com right now. I have a thermaltake silent cat 90mm on mine and it works great. very quiet and pushes a ton of air.

Use xp90 or xp90retail for a coupon code to get 10 bux off. I got mine the last time the deal was around and love it. I do believe I will try out one of those fans from Xoxide though, it looks as though it would go nicely on it.

That price ad JabTech includes the Thermaltake fan, which claims to be 35.0 dBa, 45 CFM, and run at 2400 RPM.

Any Panaflow fan you can get is going to run quieter and move just about as much air:

L1BX: 27 dBa, 43 CFM, 2100 RPM
M1A: 30 dBa, 48 CFM, 2480 RPM
H1B: 35 dBa, 56 CFM, 2850 RPM

I might buy the heatsinks and fire them up with their stock fans; they must be quieter then the AMD-supplied fans with the retail box Opteron heatsink, right?
