I was just wondering what peoples opinions on fan filters is. Do they keep out enough dust to make it worth the loss of air flow? Thanks!
 
My Antec case SX835 (I think) has a built in filter in the front. It does an OK job. After a month or so, my heatsink has some dust built up on it
 
I use Dryer Anti-Static sheets at the front and side holes. In about a month or so they turn grey and I have to blow them out - they definitly work and I notice NO increase in temp.

with the proper selection of an adequatly sized filter there need be no noticable loss of airflow.

As long as you keep your filters clean you should notice no performance loss. I use sheets of filter cloth-y stuff I found at a hardware store, like $3 for 10 sheets, 5 by 10 inches each. They're used for vents, they work really really well.
