I don't know if this is considered cooling or not, but i was wondering if anyone here uses fan filters to keep their case clean? Do they work well or whats the deal?

you can buy real filters from some of the places in the faq

but most people will tell you to cut up an old pair of nylons that belong to your wife/gf/sister/mom/some strange woman that you really want to scare by asking for nylons

they work pretty well and give pretty decent airflow.

i bought a huge foam filter thingy at home depot for 2 bux and i cut it up and taped it to the front of my case where the fans are

they work pretty good, but i still need to clean out my case once or twice a year :p

It really helps to use fan filters. I ran my old puter for almost a year without the case cover, needless to say I had a very thick layer of dirt on all the components. Not a good idea, but now with my new case, the fans have filters and the inside of my case is still pretty clean.

Well i have a couple more questions. Should i get aluminum fan filters?

like this:

or get :

keep in mind that i am getting a coolmaster and it has two intake fans on the front and i will be replacing the ones it comes with and putting in blue led fans...
im not sure about the price on the second you posted but you should try svc's as their filters are cheaper

to me, they both do the same job the same way so i would go with the one that is either cheaper (for when you cant see the filter) or looks better (for when you CAN see the filter)
