Hello,
I just installed 3 Aluminum fans into my case and they are a bit loud for my liking. I need some advice on a good fan controlling device to use. All of these fans are the smaller 3 pin connectors. I really just want to buy something and not make it myself....I have a black chenming/chieftec 601 case.

Thoughts?

M

P.S. Links are good!

Quality piece.

I've got one and I love it. works damn well too and has a very large wattage range which is good.

Even though you only have 3 fans in your pc this baybus is the one to get so when you get more fans you'll have the bus for them. i've had mine for about 5 months or so and love it and have no complaints about it i say get this one... http://www.frozencpu.com/bus-11.html

I have no idea since I don't know exactly wich case you have.

But if you are worried about the door closing...go with this, and you won't have to worry about the door closing. ;)

with line of sight it is supposed to work up to 40 feet so if you case is under your desk with the door closed, and you are in your chair....I don't know. :p

One note on the X-Tunner[sic], it is a all-or-nothing type of controller, meaning you can't change fan speeds individually.

Will the swing door on my chenming close with either of these????

If your case is anything like my Chieftec case (think old Alienware case), the door will close fine with the Vantec controller. I have one in mine :)

EDIT: just found a pic of the Chieftec 601. I have the same one. I guess i just forgot the model number :D

/me gets out uber laser bazooka (ask and i'll explain how it works) and utterly obliterates Mysogynist with enough sheer energy to take out a Panzer Mk.VII

do not be prejudiced around me...
...or you shall pay.

:D

comes in red, blue (as in the linky) and green. if i could afford one, i'd swear by it.

you don't even need to dedicate a drive bay to it!

I wouldn't want some voodoo in my case! It is bad enough there is voodoo on my money, I don't want it in my case!

(1) what you are referring to on the dollar bill is actually attributable to the illuminati, not voodoo at all.

(2) if it was good enough for the egyptians, the maya, the aztec, the sumerians, the babylonians, and near about every other culture inbetween, then a pyramid ought to be good enough for you. i'm certainly going to use one of those as soon as i get the chance.

Well, I got the Vantec one and the controller itself makes a buzzing noise at low voltages. Other than that it worked well. :p

So I bought this:

And it doesn't buzz. Plus, you can turn the voltage down to 0, if that's what you want. That feature is good for system fans but bad for CPU fans, you wouldn't want that fan off... :)
