Fan controller

Ok, so I'm working on building a custom computer desk with the computer built in (worklog thread: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1599208). Anyway, with that build, I have 6 Yate Loon high speed 140mm fans that will push/pull air through the case, and I definitely want to put a fan controller on them since I got the high speed version knowing that they would be the same as the lower speed variants if I toned down the RPMs for noise level, but still have the higher CFM rating if I need it.

I don't know much about fan controllers, and I need help. I would like something that can tune the fans fairly linearly from basically off to max, so I believe this would be a voltage controlled unit rather than a PWM controlled unit. I don't know if I can get away with a 2-4 channel unit and use splitters (2 or 3 fans per channel) or if I really want to get a 6 channel and have each one individually controlled. If I can do it, I would ultimately like to keep the front 3 fans matched and the back 3 matched in speed. I'm hoping not to spend a TON of money, but I want it to work well and last.
thanks!
