Fallout 3 "Windows Live" concern

I know that with Halo and Gears of War for PC required you to log into a Windows Live account every time you wanted to play. Anyone know if this will be the case for Fallout 3? I just noticed this today, and it has me worried. I can't be connected to the internet every time I want to play a game.

halo and gears of war did not require you to log into live (the actual internet connection) you just had to make a local account that's it.

There have been many "Games for Windows" in the past year and most and closer to all of them did not require you to log into Windows Live or let alone had the option.

Only games that are Games for Windows Live (not regular Games for Windows) require you to log in.

And even then, the Games for Windows Live games, as the guy above me said, just require you to make a local account if you can't get online. Which you can set to automatically sign in anyway.

I just noticed today that the "Live" logo is on the PC box. As long as I don't have to sign in every time I won't have a problem. I hate that game makers assume that everyone has the luxury of high speed internet. Some of us are in rural areas!

Anyway, I hope I have no problems, because I am buying this game on release day.

Does Windows live work the same as Steam, where if I have a Windows Live account I can go onto any computer that has Windows live, log into my account, and start installing my games?

No. It is not a digital distribution platform.

Windows Live is just like Xbox Live. You can sign in offline, just onto a local account.
