Fallout 3 causing Psod

As the title says Fallout 3 game of the year edition is causing a pink screen of death right when I start the game.

Now I just got a bran new gaming rig from my girlfriend for Christmas. And Fallout 3 is the only game that is causing this issue. Fall out new veges isn't even doing this and neither are any of my other games.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601)

3.30 gigahertz Intel Core i3-2120

And I have 8gbs of corsair ram.

Sop far I've tryed this game in every display resolution that it gives.
And Ive put the game on low graphics settings as well. And I still have the same issue.
 
go into fallout 3 folder then into the data folder then shaders folder..

there you will seeing shaderpack008 missing just copying shaderpack007 and rename it shaderpack008 so you have 2- 19 of the shaderpack 008 was missing
 
Thanks for the info I did some digging around and found some ini changes on the fallout nexus and the steam website that fixed my issues. But I will look that one up never knew about that one.
 
I hate to be the last one to the party with advice but I've always had luck with reinstalling games from Steam. First I would verify the integrity of the game cache. Sometimes steam is funky with larger games.....

At least this has fixed problems for me in the past multiple times.
 
find the fallout.ini file, find the line bUseThreadedAI=0 and change it to bUseThreadedAI=1 also add another line after it and insert iNumHWThreads=2. that's it, no more crashing ^^

This worked for me.

The files are in My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3
