I come home from work and find my new XP rig reading 88*F

Check the power button... *click* nothing. Other computer in the APC smartups is runnign... damn...

under the clock right now so I cannot get into it to find out its issue. I'm thinking PSU...it was an old one. But then I was running a 1700 at 2350mhz.

No...

I said what I meant. It was 88* F. Ambient... it wasnt on.

Now, if you could just get it to fold at temp.. ;)

I can't even remember how many PSUs I've deep fried in our folding quest.
25? certainly
35? probably
50? possibly

During the days of "the farm" we'd had a year's worth of dead PSU in boxes waiting for the mass 'fixin project'.....of course the project never happened, so we eventually filled a 30-gallon trashcan with the project.

Does the mobo work with another CPU? I had an Abit board do this to me once....ended up being a fried capacitor on the board
:(

I hope to have time this weekend to fix it. Right now my stats are only supported by 2 P4's a P3 and a 233 lappy

And I just broke into the 500's.

May I suggest some higher quality PSU's? :p

For decent PSU's
According to Reviews
Check out Directron http://www.directron.com/
They recently had their Mirror Super Flower TTGI FS-550TS 550W Power Supply for $29.99
They were a "buddy" of the Fragmaster by the way.

I finally figured that they're dead easy to replace. Sadly, despite resurecting a motherboard and a graphics card, my output hasn't risen a bit.

It's been a long time guys, how are y'all doing? I'm still slowly plugging away at FAD....

Rich :¬)

We're hangin' in there as usual, Ravemaster. Glad to see you stopping in. Don't be a stranger!

woooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It was only the PSU. I have a loaner 300 Antec in there now...

I'm going to need another. I've seen your posts... but what PSU would you folks suggest from Newegg... I have exactly 100 dollars (budgeted) to spend for this.

the machine is probably going get a real 8X AGP here before long so it can replace the dieing 2.0 I'm working at...

so anyway... I'd like a healthy 400-550watt unit.
