I just bought an i5 2400 in which the seller shipped with it a non working 1155 board as a freebie. The board is a Gigabyte h67N which was used as a hackintosh system. The board hadnt been used in awhile and he says all it does is come on, the board lights with flash, hsf turns and immediately cutoffs and then recycles on and off over again. No video. Any thoughts on what maybe causing this problem? I just hate to thru the board away if its salvagable.

Hold the board close to thy nose and sniff around to see if you smell something fried. Unplugged of course. Reset the BIOS via shorting the jumper if applicable. Assume both parts are defective and test the CPU in another board. Read documentation for motherboard and see if there is any other things you can try. Check RAM compatibility.
