For fuck's sake.

Picked up a Sapphire 7870 to replace my Galaxy GTX460. Removed nVidia drivers, rebooted, installed the 12.11 drivers with CAP2. Worked beautifully but had an issue in gaming and outside of it where my pc would lock up with no BSOD or dump file (event viewer = kernel power event 41) and I'd have to reboot. It would happen a couple times a day which is far below my threshold of stability for any system.

Ran driver sweeper to remove old bits of nVidia drivers (forgot about that) and rebooted into safe mode again to uninstall and then reinstall the AMD drivers. Now it fails to load detection driver, completely preventing me from doing anything to the AMD drivers via control panel or otherwise. Tried rebooting back into desktop not in safe mode and it reboots when it hits the blue windows 7 screen just before loading the desktop.

Is my best bet to put the GTX460 in and try again from scratch with that? I've had an equal amount of AMD and nVidia cards throughout the years but I've never encountered an issue like this but it is fucking retarded.
