New to this, so I'm sure there is something I'm missing, but why does FAHmon say my GPU is doing ~5600 PPD yet Hardfolding.com says I'm only making 1308 PPD?

I am fairly new as well, and I am on my 5th day folding and each day the numbers on hardfolding.com seem to be changing (getting closer to Fahmon). What it looks like to me is that once I have a consistent full week folding the projections will be more accurate. Fahmon appears to be the most accurate for me with the exception of the PS3 for now.

its because you are living and dying by a number that a program is telling you.. that program is not taking into consideration when you are doing the 511 point WU's that give less PPD.. stop following the numbers like they mean everything because they dont.. you use what fahmon says as a reference not as an exact number..

edit-darn, he beat me too it :(

hardfolding takes your average ppd over the past few days too determine your PPD. While Fahmon takes the last three frames (last three percent) of the work unit you are currently on.

I think you are assuming a little to much...

Chill, it was just a question.

i wasnt assuming anything.. i was just explaining the difference between what fahmon shows and what hardfolding shows.. fahmon PPD= what PPD you would get if you had done the same exact WU type for 24 hours straight.. hardfolding shows what your total PPD is counting all the various other WU's you do over the entire 24 hour period..

The Hardfolding site is an average of the last 5? days (might be the last 7 days). Let it run a week or so, then check your PPD against Hardfolding. Also, there is some overhead involved with the FAH program that Fahmon doesn't take into account, such as uploads and downloads, the time between the finish of the last frame and the start of the first frame on the next WU.

FahMon calculates your PPD by default based on the last 3 frames only. In addition to some other points already stated, it doesn't take into account things like how often your Virus Scanner kicks in and eats up a few cycles or downtime between units where your box isn't crunching anything (which lately is quite significant), and who knows what else it doesn't see in the few minutes of the last 3 frames.
