I currently have FahMon monitoring my computers here in the house, however, I just brought a new machine online and FahMon is having problems with it.

It can report back the points and read tell me how far along it is, yet it can't compute when it'll finish the unit. It just stays red and has no completion date.

I can't figure it out since this computer is the same basic install as all my others - just bare Win2k+FAH.

Any ideas?

P.S. - Once you reach that top 1,000 of the [H]orde...moving up ain't so easy any more.

Haven't messed with Fahmon, but is the new machine running QMDs possibly (450pters)?

If so, the WU has to reach convergence before it knows how many steps there are.

If not I'll guess it might be something like the new GBGromac that it might not understand yet.

I could be totaly wrong

That's common for me. I monitor lots of computers with fahmon and several of them are always red. I think it depends on the core/unit.

It's just odd because it's on its 8th unit and it's reporting it as Gromacs, but it just stays red and won't give an estimated time of completion. I am able to guestimate most of the time as I track all my work units in a spreadsheet, but it would be nice to have completion times.

I've thought about switching to EMIII, but do the VB runtimes work with WinXP64?
