FAH on Mac Problems

So I just downloaded the FAH text based client from the folding.stanford.edu website. When I mounted the disk image, copied the file to the desktop, and tried to run it, the programs runs without asking for any setup information.

Somehow it has my username and team number even though I've NEVER run it on this machine before. However, it will not fetch any work units.

So now, I need to go back and change my options so that I can hopefully fetch a work unit, and so I can have it pause while on battery power.

Does anyone know where I can find the config file so that I can delete it and start over?

run it with the -config flag or edit client.cfg (should be in fah folder)
 
You can just stop then restart with the -configonly option to reconfigure it to your needs. If it is already working as is, I guess someone might have setup FAH on it before or it is pulling default values.

Funny thing is... I can't find an FAH folder, I'm not sure that one exists...

The flags don't work, it runs as normal when I edit the flags in...

Also, I just reformatted this Mac with Leopard literally not even a month ago, I'm the only one to use it since, and I have NOT tried installing FAH on it since I was unaware that they made FAH for the Mac.

Any other suggestions anyone? :(

Yes, the executable is on my desktop but there is no folder associated with it for some reason. I can't find an folder, or anything else associated with FAH anywhere on the computer.
 
If you are using the SMP client then i can help you a little, I hate macs with a fiery passion but i got a free Macbookpro so i only fold on it.

Go to the System Preferences button on the dock thingy at the bottom. then in the pop up screen at the bottom click folding @ home and it has the place to put in your name and team number then a button at th bottom that says disable or enable. I would also suggest installing InCrease which is easy to google and helps you keep track of the work units and what not.

The FAH files are located in a number of places but the config file is found by opening up the Macintosh HD on the desktop, then clicking on the active user name, then library, and finally Folding@home.

You, my friend, are a genius.

So I reconfigured it, but now, there was no option to pause while on battery power. This option exists on the Windows client, but not on the Mac apparently?

EDIT: So it's been reconfigured but now STILL won't fetch any work units. :(

I'll keep trying.
 
make sure to restart the computer. I still have this problem where i have to restart after each WU is done. it finishes and then looks like it engages a new core but will sit at 0% until i restart it and log back in
