I have the chance to get the Z-2200 2.1 Logitech speakers for only about $70. They retail at $118 on newegg. They are factory refurbished though.

Is this a big deal?

Thanks!

Assuming the warranty has not been significantly reduced, I'd say it's not a big deal at all.

I've bought speakers and stuff used, it's a great way to get a better deal. Paying for new = newb :D

[Assuming same warranty, who cares?]

Based on Logitech's previous history with multimedia products.
I think it would be a poor decision to buy any of their products used or refurbished. ;)

Alright thanks guys...

Now comes the second part to this question :D

These are from ebay with a guy with a 96% feedback rating. I don't think that this is a good idea anymore, since I cant physically try out those speakers or see em. How about you guys?

I think that I will go with the one from newegg for about $40 more just to have the security.

Eh, go with Mister X...

I have no idea about Logitech and their failure rate, he has more insight than I. 40$ isn't that much extra cash, that's a day's work, almost no matter what trade you ply =]

Just a heads up dude, you could also try Amazon if you wanted the Z2200's new. I plan on ordering them for about 105$ with free shipping from there within the next two days. Hopefully that can save you another 15$ of so.

peace,
Ry

I was thinking exactly the opposite.
Since these are presumably refurbs done at the Logitech facility, it might imply that the failure rate could very well be reduced because as refurbs, the speakers have already failed and then been fixed.

Of course if the same QC people are checking everything then screw it....
