I am trying to get my hardware shuffle calmed down long enough to get an ESX demo lab going to update my VCP. I finally get a set of working hardware (still needs more punch...but, whatever), and go to connect to the host from vSphere client, only to get this:

Any known workarounds?

thanks. will give it a shot. and on another note - where the hell is my os x client, already?

lolz. I was gonna say "soon" but it's moot now ;)
I'm really glad that U1 dropped last night as we are doing a production upgrade this weekend from 3.5 to 4! Normally I have bad luck and the updates are released the week after my planned downtime.

On a side note, vSphere client installed perfectly with the new version. Just make sure you remove any of the changes made from the link above if you already did them. Namely, I had to get rid of the entry in the vpxclient.cfg or else the startup would bomb every time.

hrmm... paravirtual scsi support in U1 for Win2k3 and Win2k8, with drivers for use @F6 during install. Will this allow me to solve my WHS as a VM issue? THAT WOULD KICK ASS

Dunno honestly, I thought you were running that in WS?

I was going to, due to the perceived capability of drive passthrough to the guest, but that did not work as anticipated. started a new thread on this question.
