Fable (2027)

I hope I can buy all the plots and rent them at max amount until money means nothing and then set rent at min like I did in Fable 2. It also was funny when my main wife found out about my side wife when I went to sacrifice the side wife for the evil stuff.

That was for sure one of the most hilarious parts of that game where you could buy up property, rent it back to the owner, and they'd love you for it.

Fable was great, having a silly fantasy setting instead of the usual "A dark horror is threatning to destroy the world because reasons, and only YOU can save mankind!" will be like a breath of fresh air.
Only hope they don't mess it up.

The original game was both those things at the same time, though. Fable 2 leaned more into the humor and silliness than the first game did.

Maybe. I honestly can't remember much, if anything, story wise from these games, only that I enjoyed the first two very much. Never got around to play the third one, even if I do have it.

The stories are very forgettable. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be, or if Molyneux is just shit at writing good stories but they are extremely generic and forgettable. Heck in the first game you literally go to a generic "hero academy". As Yhatzee said in his hilarious review your backstory comes from "The totally unoriginal guide to Hero motivation. Extra generic edition."

Not saying they were awful games, I'd call them average, just that you didn't play them for story.

But I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously, I thought of it as a parody on all the old childrens fairytales with all the tropes and a bit of humour thrown in. And there's not many genres more generic than the fantasy genre.

I've never been quite sure. I mean it feels that way... but then it takes itself overly serious at times, and there's all the shit that Molyneux blathered about it being this living world that would change with time and your character and how much your choices mattered. Either way it is a totally forgettable story, which is fine, there have been plenty of fun games with totally forgettable (or flat out no) stories.

Yeah, I can't remember much about these games and the story around them, other than that I enjoyed them both.

That first video is fantastic I never played the original but my coworkers played it moral choices usually they created bad character with graphics that good looking for 2026 I can wait.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...-says-xboxs-fable-may-not-release-until-2027/

I just noticed the 2026 release window on Steam says Coming Soon now with all the changes Microshaft did to other games.
There isn't any recent information on the Steam Page at all. The Thing is I never played any of these games since I didn't have an Xbox at the time.
I was in the Backroom unloading Trucks and when the game launched the workers were talking about going Evil in the game which kinda made a statement.

Just picked up Fable Anniversary it must of got buried in my Backlog or I never knew about it from 2015. I never played a Fable game but heard so much about it.

The first and second are really good. They're super easy, but still fun. Way too much bloom, though. lol

It was... Fine. The Zero Punctuation review of it was pretty accurate. The backstory really is "The Totally Unoriginal Hero Motivation, Extra Generic Edition." The game itself is fine, gameplay works well, the world is ok though they act like it is much deeper than it is. Things like your hero aging sound interesting but are pretty generic gimmicks in actual execution. It wasn't a bad game, but there was nothing real special about it other than that Peter Molyneux ran has mouth about how amazing it was gonna be, and then it wasn't because that is what he does: Overhypes his games and talks about a lot of shit that never makes it in to the end product.

Hard disagree, it was fantastically fun. I've played through it start to finish over the years at least 5 times.

I had to refund the game Saves don't work properly Starts the entire game over.

You need to manually save in Fable Anniversary. I know there are people who have become spoiled by auto saves and forget to do that in older games.

Reminds me of Hogwarts Legacy hopefully its better. Environments look sick almost MMO like. Hopefully it comes out this year on Steam

Yeah, Fable looks better than what I was anticipating - I liked how 'heavy' the hammer's looked/felt.

The gameplay looks good imo, graphics are nice anyways. Never played the first 3 but if those aren't needed to get into this one I could see myself picking it up especially if there's a good story or characters.
