Fable 2 Impressions

ugh, so far the opening sequence as a child and whatnot is as terrible as fable 1's was. I'm giving it all the benefit of the doubt though as I'm not anywhere near into the real meat of the game.

Yeah it's pretty terrible but it's nothing compared to Neverwinter Nights 2 opening. :p

I would like to play this game. I enjoyed the first game dispite all the Mollynew shenanigans

Played through twice this weekend (wife and kids were out of town :D). Once as an evil ranged sharpshooter type, once as a good magic user type.

The thing that pissed me off was even with the best weapon out there, it was basically impossible to play any of the later stuff using pure skill emphasis, even with basically the best rifle ever. I probably should have combined it with time slow down magic instead.

I hated the first 2 hours or so, after that it wasn't bad, although I still didn't like the interface that much. It was effed up too how bad the interact mechanic was. I got so sick of running up to someone or something and hitting A and having nothing happen, and having to back off and try again. Really buggy interfacing there.

Magic really needed some skill/strength type ways to spend your points. It was all spells, no "faster spellcasting" or "longer range spellcasting" or anything like that.

Also clothing was pointless. Give me stats, or better variety, or something.

Story was a bit rubbish. SPOILERS

If you're going to have a villain, give me a villain who is actually bad, or has a coherent plan for...something, anything.

And what's up with the stupid ass "sacrifice" of the dog? Oh boy, he stopped a bullet. Then lucien reloaded and shot me anyway. great drama there guys. +

Can you, you know, not become ancient in this one? In Fable 1 by the end of the game I was white-haired and wrinkly, covered in scars etc... one should think that being a hero of legend or whatnot you could at least find some way to reverse your aging etc.. being an old man was fine as wizard, but what if I want to finish my adventure as a nice 40-50 marksman or a 20-30 swordmaster?

It's been so long since I played the first, but you do get older in the second one... but not thoo bad. As far as the scars and stuff, I think you can buy potions to remove your scars, though those potions might only be found in the DLC, like the Knothole Island "Expansion Pack." I could be wrong though. Of course the best way to avoid getting scars would be to never get hurt in battle. ;) :D

Only death causes scars, so don't worry too much about them. And the aging is a matter of choice during one part of the game, so you can stay youngish if you want. Too bad there's nothing to fix the general fugly that you get from leveling up skills.

Yeah, when I made a second character as an evil chick I was saddened to see her bulk up so much when the physique was increased.
