F6 Driver Disk via USB Thumb Drive

Can someone point me in the direction I need to take to find where to have your USB thumb drive act as an A:\ ? Doing a fresh re-install of WinXPro and because of my Adaptec 2230SLP card I need to install the drivers for it - problem being I don't even own a floppy drive or disk anymore and installing it would be a real PIA if I have to go out and buy it.

I believe an old DOS 5.0 command, ASSIGN, did such a thing (send all requests for drive X to drive Y) but I haven't been able to find it.

Currently, I do have my USB flash stick as a bootable device but the Windows install doesn't see it as an A:

Thanks.

I don't believe that's possible. Not sure why you'd get rid of the floppy drive if you knew you had to hit F6 to re-install, but that's besides the point.

Since you're using XP, download nLite and add the drivers you need into the XP disc.
