Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think a good number of people who had temp issues including myself solved it by overclocking it past 400mhz on the core.
First time I loaded up the 71.84 (I think) and tried running a benchmark, my computer crashed and the 6800gt died for 15 minutes. I shit myself when that happened but all is fine now
rumor is the drivers have control over the voltage, but only nvidia knows how to control the voltage through the drivers... notice the clock diff between 2d and 3d mode.. theres a voltage difference that goes along with that and when the drivers arnt loaded its in 3d mode
