hey guys, just installed xp pro again and got myself back up folding. I have my pc set up for two users (myself & the wife).Question though: what do I have to do so that when she logs on or switches user, I continue to fold? I've done the whole re-format thing aprox.5 times since I started F@H, and have never had this problem, I just don't remember what I did.

You can now install folding@home as a service so that it will run even if no one is logged in at all. When doing the config, just say yes to installing as service (need to have admin access I would guess), then go to the services manager panel (services.msc) and start it up. (You have to start it manually the first time, afterwards it is set to automatically start at boot.)

Love and marriage is all wonderful and good, but sharing a computer? No, no, no, to keep a marriage alive and working and successful you actually need two computers. It’s a scientific fact. :D

Twice the computers, twice the production, the happier the marriage. ;)

Ya, no shit. She just started her 4th year at university, and my time on the pc has been cut severely. I find myself getting up an hour earlier in order to spend some quality time with my computer.

Well, add to that my favorite axiom; the best way to multitask is to use two computers. Thus, if you both spend hours on the computer you actually need four machines.

See the logic?

I always thought that you needed a PC for each person in the household... in every room... hmm.... no wonder I'm not married yet......

And with a little bit of luck you might stay that way and have money and a life ;)

Of course, I have a girlfriend (of 8 or 9 months) who I've known for the last 10 years... the world thought we were dating 6yrs ago after high school.... but we didn't agree on that until early Jan... long story short, I'm 99.9% sure she's who I'll marry... of course, she (so far) supports me in folding,etc... but when I spend more time taking care of the folding farm than her, I know she'll be upset :D

Keep on Folding!!

i have 1.5 computers per person (9, 6 people) and my mom still can't find free time on a computer to check her email

hotrods and racing, then computer farming, wonder when it was she quit showing up, damn I had alot of time in that one :D :D

ahh... maybe that was not enough time, :D
