Just dl'd the client and am thinking about switching over from seti, anyway how do these points work? My first unit is 2500 "frames". Not really sure how that goes to points, also I dont see and options (have the windows 2k/xp gui version) for large WU's unless that is the standard or deadline unti selection option. Hard is team 33 right?

Right click, go configure, and you'll see those options in there.

You might want to consider the console version, it runs as a windows service (you'll never know it's running plus it's faster) and then you can use EMIII (lets you monitor multiple machines http://home.comcast.net/~wxdude1/emsite/). It will calculate your points and let you track tons of machines on your network.

I see for the for the points its just how long it takes you? I found that before however it does not make much sense to me, if it is days on their system how can I check the time per there system? If its days on my system it seems a bit... unfair I guess.
 
Stanford determines points for each WU on their test bench as noted by chileman. Some units may have a higher point value such as large WU's or beta proteins, which is a bonus to allowing your system to run those. The following page has a listing of all the currently running projects, and their associated point values. Also, you can use EMIII to monitor your client. It will give you relevant information such as what project, point value, time remaining about what you are currently folding.

FAH also creates a file in the folder that you installed it in called FAHlog.txt. You can check this file to make sure that the protein you're working on is progressing and get an estimate of how long it will take. EMIII does all that for you but FAHlog.txt a quick and dirty way to see what's going on. Enjoy, nice to have you around!
