i know and i dominate you in WU that are done.
You have definitely done much more science, no doubt.

1) Can you please be a little less vague? Ie, a list like:i was running the sinlge core clients one per core for a long long time. till 3-4 days ago i seen the FAH tracker thread. im running that with the smp client and the GPU3 client
251 pointers are PS3 only WUs.2) Your user summary shows you dropping 251-point single threaded CPU WUs every update as of a few hours ago:
Gotcha, so thats why my ppd on a 6701 can be between 4-6k when they take almost a full day to complete one 921 point unit.
FAH GPU Tracker isn't very clear about this IMO, but HFM makes it pretty straight forward.

Lets see if I can flesh this out to check my assumptions....
Using my Q9550 SMP as an example, you can see its running a 6701 WU that is worth 921 points but HFM shows I am getting 4700 points for it.
Now look at the TPF on this client, currently showing about 13.5 minutes of work for each percentage point towards completion. 13.5 x 100 = 1350 minutes to complete = 22.5 hours to complete a 6701 WU. This is where there PPD projection in GPU Tracker is coming from, as it is taking the bonus credit earned divided by time to completion. (you can see the ppd projection in GPU Tracker would indicate an actual completion time of over 24 hours, this is due to gaming)
Does that make sense?
Filter, the client is likely projecting what you will score when bonus points are brought into account but you aren't actually earning them until you complete 10 SMP units.

That is good info and something I have noticed. I'm currently using FAH GPU Tracker to run the clients, do you know how to add the option in here?
Filter, looks like your sorted out your issues... 20k in the last 24 hours seems right on track.
No, I don’t use any add on programs, I just run the clients and check my progress at foldingathome.com. The problem with the add on programs is the best they can do is let you know the client is actually running and mislead you on points and progress.
I find it much easier to run the clients from a shortcut on the task bar, one click and I know exactly what progress I’m making and I don’t have yet another program running in the background sucking up cycles.![]()
i just need to start getting bonus points for smp now. only 4 more work units.
It’s still very unclear to me why the points themselves seem to mean so much.
The points won’t buy you a cup of, well anything. Assuming this is about the science it comes down to the actual work completed or #of work units, not point totals. This has never made sense to me.
Worse, it’s an issue that the PG has never addressed.
Even though they proselytize that it's all about the research and nothing else really matters, they sure love the financial investments the community makes in the perpetual chase for the almighty point. That's why they don't want to address it. The problem of grossly disproportionate incentives for research production has been exacerbated 10 fold or more since the introduction of the bonus system to SMP last year. I am not against a bonus structure per se, but as it stands with the non-linear hyperbolic system we have now, machines with the latest hardware are seeing an order of magnitude greater production, which is just ludicrous.Worse, it’s an issue that the PG has never addressed.
