F@H for Mac 8.6?

Like the title says, I have an old Mac G3 450 that is just sitting here (at work) not doing anything and I wanted to know if there is a text console version for MAC OS 8.6...I know its old and outdated, we dont have MAC OSX to install it on, I dont even know why its here, but its part of our inventory and is collecting layers of dust

I know that there are ones for MAC OSX but I dont want to spend that much on this older MAC

I am farily certain that the answer is no, but I just want it to be confirmed by you guys

you could download a linux live CD... Then you could keep the mac OS (if needed) and have linux to fold with

Or you can sell the mac on CL (add an extra 200$ for it being a "hard to find piece of computer history) and buy some parts for a faster machine :)

I have seen yellowdog work well with macs, I have some Ubuntu CDs ( people pc version )
if you want to try it out. I can Mail you one.


 
hmmm...might try that PPC Ubuntu live cd (going to download it) - yellow dog is 3 discs! I'm sure it's "better" but I'll go with what Ive used in the past - Ubuntu.

Now I just hope that the PPC can boot from a CD - is there a bios to change settings? I have no idea how to even use macs, but I'm sure this 450 is faster than my P2 450 that I'm using at work now....sooo slooooooww. Migh even hook the mac up if its faster ;-)

At least in newer macs, you can hold the C key, or the Option key and those should give you a choice, or boot directly from the CD.

I'll just assert that my mad rhyming skill were unintended and that I just wanted to help the guy with the boot problem, which by this point is probably lost up there in the pics or something... so to recap:
