Why does WU delete my F@Hs whenever I restart the client?

In the unitinfo.txt file, it will say 13%, then I restart and it'll be back to 0

Anybody know how to fix this?

Have you tried deleting the whole folder and reinstalling with a fresh download of the client?

If anything for starters, you might want to get rid of the FAHCore_XX.exe files when folding isn't running. This will force the client to re-download them. If the problem persists, you might want to start running some diagnostic testing (Prime95, Memtest)and see if there is some other unforseen hardware problem.

Has the PC been stress tested? If you've replace all the files, that should rule out any problems with corruption in the client and in the WU's.

Maybe run a Scandisk in conjunction with the stress testing, as maybe your hard drive is corrupting things when it writes the checkpoint files.

K, there should be a file, FAHlog.txt, can you post a portion of that from where the units are restarting. Normally an error code or other information is placed in there, that might give some clues as to what is happening.

It's just when I restart the client (And I don't like having the computer turned on 24/7.

Ok. I'll ask the stupid question. Duh...What OS ya runnin? :p

Also this part:

Service: C:\F@H\FAH500-Console.exe

That should be FAH502-Console.exe. Where did you get your download from?

I've not seen the "Received unknown from OS" line before in any logs I've ever seen.

You might look at www.folding-comunity.org and see if any of the Stanford guys have seen anything like that.

I've not seen any issues with Tinkers, most of the problems here lately have dealt with Gromacs, so this appears that it could be something new.

delete everything FAH related on your computer.
reinstall everything FAH related on your computer.
make sure you delete all the FAH related reg keys on your computer as well.

In the log file, it says it's the Windows console version, but I guess he could be running under Wine. Also the file is interesting because it says it's the 5.02 version but the file name is 5.00. Is there a reason why you renamed it to Fah500-console?

I'm not sure why I renamed it to 500 :S.

It seems to be ok, now. Although, it is a Gromacs this time.

BTW, which is the higher priority, low or idle?
