Hi,

I bought and installed F.E.A.R., and within the first five minutes of me playing it, it crashes to desktop and gives me a memory reference error. I am getting frustrated with this problem and don't know what is causing it.

Here are my relevant specs.

Asus P5B Deluxe
Intel Core2Duo E6420 @ 3.2GHz, 1.375v, 24+ hours Orthos stable, 42/35 idle, 50/44 load (during F.E.A.R)
Corsair XMS2 2GB PC6400, 5-5-5-12, 2.1v, Memtest86+ for 10 passes, no errors
EVGA 8800GTX, 163.71 Forceware drivers
Antec P180B
F.E.A.R. patched to 1.08

Heat shouldn't be an issue. My CPU temps are fine, and my 8800GTX doesn't go above 80c during gameplay.

I have updated DirectX 9.0c to the August 2007 release. I have reinstalled my graphics drivers, and it is still not working.

I can play Half Life 2 for hours, so at least I know one game is working correctly.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks...
