im downloading right from sierra's ftp!!! ive been searching google and i cant find anything. you know some where better???
 
I'm downloading it, but when I tried to register I reached the second section, answered the questions, and it took my back to the first part, making me fill out my personal information again (and it rejects me, saying a CD key was already sent).

EDIT: Finally got through. I had to use another e-mail address.

i am getting it at about 20k though... it will take a while.
 
uTorrent is reporting an average of 260kb/s for me, but that includes the beginning lull. I predict that when finished, the average will be well above 300kb/s.

If you are only getting 15kb/s, something is wrong.
 
anyone try xfire?? im on the waiting list now for it, but is it worth it or it also going to be slow?
 
Yea I already finished downloading(torrent) and installed it.

However there are no servers up and im not sure it my cd key was accepcted becuase when I put it in the multyplayer client settings it does not say valid or invalid.

Also max resolution is 1152 x 864 and I have a EVGA 7900 GT Sig series

I believe though with F.E.A.R. when you do the .ini trick, the game automatically adjusts the FOV so its really not that bad, like compared with the BF2 ini trick.
 
How is the performance? Is this going to rape my PC the way FEAR did, or is it a little more optimized?

Also got a new dual core CPU, that should give me a few FPS :)

It will rape your system.. It's not dual CPU optimized like usual...

1024x768 should be fine with 6800gt

We just need a good server it's all... I've been downloading from Sierra since 1pm... I'm 45% finished... Initially it was going 80k/sec now @ 14K/s.. Segmented download using getright download manager....

Sierra is getting hammered...

1.5 megabit should get you at least 100 kb/s, if not 150 kb/s.

if i was downloading something like from microsoft at 2am... (actually i've seen about 180KB...)
not f.e.a.r. combat right now... too much trafic

lol in bittorrent, i'm upleading faster than i'm downloading... 4KB/6KB!! :confused:

You actually get that speed from their free servers? That's surprising. I'm getting about 180 from Filefront, but I'll probably stop that if I can get my cap from Fileshack.

I have a subscription but its the free one and yeah I ran 497-500 the whole way

Yeah, I got tired of doing 40-89Kb/sec from the torrent so I started using fileshack. Been getting a steady 512Kb/Sec. After it finishes in 10 minutes I'll fire up utorrent again and seed whilst I go have dinner with my GF. :D

Yeah, I am registered on there, I just don't have a Mercury payment upgrade or whatever. That's quite surprising. I'll probably switch to there.

Does anyone else have a problem with the mouse/weapon lag in this game? I know it studders if you have less than 2GB of ram (which is forcing me to put the settings on medium/low), but it doesn't feel accurate when I move the mouse. When I fire, a lot of weapons have a delay (with the sniper being the worst).

It's caused me more than a few deaths. :mad:
