There is a review of this monitor:
    http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2008/review-asus-vw223b.html

"Compared to USB mode, the VGA mode is inferior in terms of image quality. However, it is only possible to play one of the latest 3D games in VGA mode. In USB mode, this is not possible and there is also a clear warning in the manual about this, since it can cause system disruptions."

"The existing lag when the model is connected via USB does not distract the user at all in office usage and gaming is not possible in this mode anyway."

"A convincing performance looks different to this. Apart from gaming enjoyment, you should avoid connecting the monitor via USB (EzLink) at all costs, also for playing back films."
