I'm thinking of upgrading to an Eyefinity setup once somebody makes a waterblock for the 6990.
I can't use 30" displays because I'll lose the ability to do 7.1 sound via HDMI. I've not found a HDMI 1.4a AV reciever that can do over 1200p.
I have a 27" 1920x1200 Dell (non-DisplayPort) so I need to find two more similarly sized monitors, the best candidates so far being a couple of HP ZR24W screens.
1. Is different sized panels going to be bad for Eyefinity? I'll only really be using the 27" for non-gaming so I shouldn't have much problem with mis-matched window/taskbars and until I can find/build a triple display mount that supports portrait I'll stick to landscape mode.
2. I'm guessing not but will there be any difference in the display lag on the centre screen compared to the two side displays (mixing DP & non-DP) other than what I'll get from using different monitors (and the AV kit)? I've searched and nobody seems to mention any increase/difference in lag from using different ports.
