Anyone have Eyefinity? while I was watching the game last night, Ieft my PC running with a screen saver running. about 2 hours later, I noticed the center screen was flickering, right and left monitors were not.

When I play WoW, at times the mouse curser is distored, but when I move it to the left or right monitors, the curser is fine and looks normal, but its the center monitor the curser looks distored, it even looked that way when I exited the game and was on the normal desktop.

Anybody know by chance what this could be? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
 
What type of connection do you have to the center monitor? What type of monitor is it?

It could be:
The monitor went bad
The cable to the monitor went bad/got unplugged
That particular port on the video card went bad

You say the cursor is distorted on the center screen, is it ONLY the cursor or everything on the center screen?
 
Cursor corruption is a known issue with the 5 and 6 series, one thing that works sometimes is to rapidly move the cursor between the left and center or right and center monitor, though ti doesnt always work
 
@Mozex - I have a PowerColor Active Display adapter connected from the GPU to a DVI Cable then to the monitor, the monitors are brand new.

the screen looks fine but the curser is distored/texture messed up, sometimes the middle monitor flickers when I move a brower into it... just weird..

@USMGrunt - I've tried that, I think it worked once but that was it.

@Intel - Hasn't worked for me unless I reboot.
 
The corrupt cursor bug has been around for a long time, supposedly someone has traced it down to the mouse cursor memory getting corrupted when coming back from sleep/screen saver. 10.12 was suppose to reduce its occurance, and did for me, but it still occasionally happens.

As for the screen blanking my guess would be the DP->DVI adapter. Those things have been flaky. I'd try it on a different one of the monitors, also check if there's a bios update for the adapter, and if nothing else works you may need to exchange the adapter.

Gotcha. I will try that. The mouse thing happened again last night after about 2 hours of playing WoW, rebooted and it was gone, but came back.. its weird.

Yup, for the first few months I was like big deal I can cope. Now I'm bitter, very bitter.

Oh I forgot to mention a workaround is to turn on the Windows magnifier tool and set it to 100% (ie no zoom). I believe this takes the cursor out of hardware mode so you get the uncorrupt cursor BUT I don't think this is compatible with games. It may be that disabling hardware cursor in games will work as well though.

Magnifier should be in the Accessibility options in the Windows Control Panel, in Win7 you can just type magnifier in the Start menu. It should put a magnifying glass around your mouse pointer that makes everything big, and also pops up a small toolbar with settings for it. The default zoom is 200% I think, click the minus sign down to 100% and set the Views to Full screen then just minimize the toolbar to get it out of the way.

You can also use software mouse in WoW. This fixes it (in game, not in windows obviously) but may introduce some slight input lag.

I used to have the problem frequently on my 5870, but since upgrading to the 6970 I've only seen it a couple times.

Ok, Software mouse in WoW, pardon my ignorance but I don't recall seeing that in WoW, where is it exactly?
 
setting is actually called "Hardware mouse cursor". Set it to "disabled". I believe it is in advanced video options.
