Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Just got done with my first year of college and now I can put a little bit of money towards something a bit more awesome.

I currently have an MSI Twin Frozr II 5850 that I'm looking to get rid of and upgrade.

My current monitors are:
1. 27" Asus LED.
2. Dell 20"
3. Dell 20"
4. Samsung 20"

Now comes the decision.

I can either:
1. Sell the 3 20" monitors and my 5850 and put it towards a 570/580 along with a 24" 3D Monitor and have my 27" on the side.

or

2. Sell the 3 20" monitors and my 5850 and put it towards a 6950/6970 along with 2 more of the Asus 27" panels to have an epic eyefinity setup.

I've done eyefinity with my 3 20" monitors before and loved it. I just hated that when I was done gaming, I had to do everything else on a tiny 20" monitor.

Anyways, all suggestions and opinions are welcome. Thank you, my kind fellows.

I like your second option. You will get to run more games with a 6950/70 and you will have bigger screen realstate with a 27" monitor.

Sell everything and buy the U3011.
I was debating between Eyefinity and a 30'', I hooked up 3 identical monitors and tried it out. For gaming it's awesome, a very cool experience no doubt. But when surfing / other stuff, it's extremely annoying.

Screw 3D. I wish that crap would just freaking die. It's even worse on PC when everything is made darker. Not worth it at all imo.
At least Eyefinity gives you a tangible advantage.

Sell everything and buy the U3011.

I can't do that.

I first tried out dual monitors about 3 years ago. Ever since then I go absolutely insane if I can't play a game in full screen while at the same time monitoring my temps or something else on a separate monitor.

Besides, I'm still not convinced that a really nice looking monitor is a justifiable reason to dish out $1200.
