Eyefinity setup issues

I am having issues setting up Eyefinity. I ordered two Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW to go along with my current one that I for a few years. I bought a XFX 6950 in order to handle the higher resolution (been running like a champ since I've had it last Wendesday). The XFX support member here recommended I use this MDP to DVI connector as well. Current driver is the 10.12 A hotfix for the 6900 series. This is under a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit Pro I just did today also.

Now I did attempt to create the group setup, but it was only outputting 3840x1024 while it should be 5040x1050. I think the issue has to do with one of the monitors I ordered.

The monitor is refusing to output in 1680x1050 even using it as a main single screen (the other two are not connected in anyway). It won't connect via the DVI cord. I either have to use VGA cord to dvi adapter for the back of the card or use the DVI cord with the MDP to DVI connector to get a signal. The max resolution with the vga cord is 1920x1080 (don't ask me why), but when I try to do 1680x1050 the monitor gets all fuzzy and an error message says it should be 1680x1050 for the resolution. The max resolution on the DVI cord w/ MDP to DVI connector is 1600x1200. No idea what is going on with the damn thing. I tried multiple DVI cords with it, so that isn't an issue either. The MDP to DVI connector works on my original and an other that was ordered.

Is the monitor just a bust or am I doing something wrong?

I need to figure this out by tonight, because you have to report issues within 24 hours of getting the product. The other monitor I have is actually fairly beaten up. The stand is a decent chip in it. Where you connect the LCD screen to the base it is actually cracked. On top of the front plastic part not even being totally on. Damn thing must of been dropped or something like that. Seems a bit much even for a refurb.

For some reason, the drivers seem to default to a 15% underscan. In your CCC, go to desktops and displays, then from the lower left hand corner select the offending monitor and click the drop down menu.On that menu, select configure...from there go to scaling options and set it to 0%.

Hopefully this solves your issue. I wasn't exactly sure what you were having troubles with and why you kept changing cords, but the underscan issue has been a common one for lots of people. Good luck!

One of the monitors I ordered when I am using it by itself won't work properly. It has a DVI and VGA input. I attempted using the DVI input with a DVI cord, but it is not picking up a singal whatsoever. Thats why I kept switching cords to try and get a signal. I do manage to get one with a VGA, but it won't even display properly at the native resolution of 1680x1050 @ 60Hz. The other two monitors are not having that issue, they are each working directly with a DVI cord.

I think I am just going to try and get my money back. I don't want to put up with the hassle of swapping monitors if two I got where in such condition as I recieved them. I sent the store an email this morning explaining what happened. I must of spent around 6 hours trying to get the setup to work. I don't think its me anymore.

Right now I am done with Eyefinity. I may visit it again this summer when I will have more money just to pick up brand new monitors. Though I may just keep this 6950, since it can unlock to a 6970. In the summer I maybe able to pick up another card if needed along with the monitors too.

Sorry to hear that. If the monitor won't do it's native resolution when it's used alone something is definitely wrong with it.
