Hello everyone,

I have two Dell U2311H monitors and I can't decide if I should save some money and buy a 3rd Dell U2311H monitor or sell my 2nd Dell U2311H monitor and buy two smaller monitors and put them vertical on both sides of the Dell U2311H monitor. Something like this

If I do it this way, I don't not know what brand and size of monitors would let me do this
(? |23"| ?)

Thanks

17" 5:4 screens with 1280x1024 resolution unrotated would be sort of close. I'm not sure why anyone would choose that setup over 3x U2311Hs though..

The image you link to is a central 30" display at 2560x1600 and 2x 20" 4:3 displays at 1600x1200 in portrait at the sides.

Oh, and since I just noticed this thread is called "Eyefinity setup"... you should know that Eyefinity does not work nicely with setups such as this. You have to rely on forcing the game to run in a window to make it span across 3 monitors of different sizes, or use SoftTH.

I guess I'll just save some money and buy another U2311H. The reason I wanted to go the other way was because it might of been cheaper but I didn't know that it wouldn't work nicely with that setup. Thanks for the info wagoo.

thanks

I'm in agreement with the other posters. Buy another to match what you have. I bought a 23" monitor and decided to just slap on some 19" monitors I had sitting around beside it. Lets just say that eyefinity does not like that setup very much. I highly advise having three of at least the same size to use eyefinity properly.

On a side-note, a buddy of mine has 3 24" monitors hooked up in eyefinity and loves it. Sure makes gaming immersive.

yeah do it right three identical lcds i dont even lke 3 lcds that dont match that have the same res and your already there having two

what gpus? thanks

I tried eyefinity on 3 displays to see how it would work, just sampling the stuff for my first time.

I had a 17" (4:3) - 22" (16:9) - 15" (4:3) absolutely made me sick to my stomach with motion sickness and vertigo. All different color qualities, input lags, and response rates. Three mismatched LCDs of the same size and format might still give you a sense of vertigo or make your eyes hurt from different input lags, etc....

I will totally recommend 3 of the same exact screens or you risk severe vertigo plus it looks like absolute anal squeeze.
