If I wanted to use Eyefinity with only two monitors, I don't need to use a DisplayPort adapter, I can just use the regular DVI/HDMI connectors, right?
 
Yes that should work. I believe they recommend going dual DVI. I think one of the DVI ports is shared w/ the HDMI, so if you have it hooked up and it doesn't work, switch to the other DVI.
