Eyefinity help

So I'm wondering if the 6990 + 6950/70 will play BF3 on high settings with 3 27" 1080p monitors... I know the specs for the game aren't out yet but that GPU setup looks pretty legit. Just wondering what everybody thinks.

On a single 1080p screen that should be more than enough based on the Alpha. People were getting playable fps in eyefinity with a tri-fire setup. Better performance, even on a Tri-SLi setup.

There will be a ton of changes in the final build so I'm not sure how eyefinity is going to perform. However on single screen there is enough headroom as far as performance goes on a tri videocard setup that it should absolutely perform well enough to keep your fps in the black or green.

Yeah I ran three 6970's at 3240x1920 and had no issues in the alpha. Not even sure if the trifire was being utilized.

So another positive experience. I'll add that from what I've seen from the alpha, eyefinity was being utilized well. Same with multithreaded CPU's I've seen threads where people looked at CPU usage and gpu usage and it was taxing everything in that early a stage which is a good sign that the game is pretty well optimized for hardware.

Just read the article.

Damn, I am running 2x 6950's. Now I'm thinking of selling one and grabbing a 6990.

My 6950's are OC'd to 6970's. If I get the 6990 will it run at the OC'd speeds?

6990+6950 should be ok-ish for 3240x1920 I would think. Based on what I've seen in the alpha if crossfire scaling is maximum, I'd expect around 65fps average, and maybe 45-50 minimum. I'm not sure it'd be totally smooth though, given the caveats of eyefinity.
