Hi folks,

Well I have decided to take the plunge into Eyefinity now that it seems that Crossfire and Eyefinity work well together after the drivers have matured over the last few months.

I am looking at the Acer GD235hz 23.6 inch monitor. I like this monitor because it does 120MHz and a 2MS response time. This should eliminate any ghosting or tearing when I play any FPS game.

So I just want to get my facts str8 before I purchase the equipment. For my card, I am running 2 Sapphire 5870's. Each ther the following on them: 2 DVI-Dual Link, 1 HDMI and 1 Full Size Display Port. The monitors have DVI, HDMI and VGA.

On top of getting the 3 monitors, I need to purchase the Displayport Adapter (Active) to DVI converter. This will allow for full eyefinity correct? Will I be able to run the above monitor @ 120MHz? Or can I just plug in the 3rd monitor into another DVI port on the 2nd ATI card as you can do on Nvidia's setup?

A little confused about this...Please help me clear this up you [H]'ers :)

You'll need the Adapter. ATi only uses the ports from the first card. There is not currently a way around that. My adapter is up for grabs if you are interested.
 
Running the adapter at 120Hz may present a problem. The higher the resolution the more difficult it becomes. I have an approved(Accell) ATI Display port to VGA adapter and it states 60Mhz. Check ATI's approved list and then check what the product you want to purchase can do first. Below is the link to the list it gives the resolution but not the Mhz. 120Hz is fairly new for this stuff so check to be sure.

2ms should do it though shouldn't it. While you may only see a max of 60FPS on a 60Hz monitor it would seem that you should NOT see any tearing. My personal feeling(not a criticism of you and what you want to do, just my opinion) is that 120Hz on desktop is not worth it YET. Monitors are double the price of 60Hz and to get 3 of them? I am planning to get a 42-46" screen at 120Hz and use the GTX 460 (I currently use for Physx) for 3D gaming when the mood hits me.

Have you considered the ASUS 120Hz monitor?
