Eyefinity and mixing refresh rates

Hey guys, there's a good deal on a 24" 1920x1200 LCD in the hotdeals forum and I'm considering getting two for an eyefinity setup with my FW900 (24" CRT) but my question is, can I run different refresh rates on each monitor?

The LCDs are capped at 60hz and I'd like to run the CRT at 85hz so the setup would be LCD (1920x1200@60hz), CRT (1920x1200@85hz), LCD (1920x1200@60hz). I've scoured the internet for an answer but found nothing definitive.
 
I would assume it is not possible unless proven otherwise. I just can't believe that it would not be tremendously complicated to have part of your screen refreshing at one speed and part of your screen refreshing at another speed.
 
Nope. One of my 3 identical monitors was somehow set with a refresh of 59Hz, with the others at 60Hz. I have no idea why the Displayport one decided to be 1Hz less but it took me ages to discover it and the flicker on that screen in Eyefinity was doing my head in. Set them all to 60Hz and the problem disappeared.
 
It is possible to set them with different rates, but you'll get major screen flickering/jumping. I had this happen when I had two different model monitors and one kept defaulting to 59hz and another to 60hz.
 
Could the flickering be an issue with powerplay or maybe a displayport->dvi/vga adaptor issue?

No. All mine are displayport. The flickering is because you're showing an image at 60Hz and one of the monitors isn't refreshing at 60Hz.
 
does anyone have an actual answer for this?

your flickering was probably due to lcd not supprting that refresh rate.

TO ANYONE WITH EYEFINITY: GET OFF YOUR ASS, GOTO GARAGE, TEST CRT MONITOR NAO!!!!!!!!!!!
