Eyefinity 6 setup help

Hey All, just bought the Eyefinity 6 card at the egg for $180, I currently have 3 24" 1920x1200 monitors and a 37" 1080p monitor hooked up.

24" Monitors = 1 DP, 1 DVI, 1 HDMI
37" Monitor = 1 DVI

I'm trying to setup the 3x24's in a Eyefinity group and the 1 37" by itself till I get my other 3 monitors. But I can't enable the 4th monitor. The 3 24's are in a group just fine, and Windows and CCC both detect the 37", but I can't enable it. CCC says: "This Opertaion is not supported based on current configuration."

Windows just says: "Unable to save settings."


What the hell am I doing wrong here? :(
 
My belief is that the 4th display needs to come from a dp due to the hdmi sharing w. One of the dvi's
 
you can only have 2 legacy(dvi, hdmi, vga) connections... after that, everything MUST be Displayport, or using Active Displayport adapters

your 37" probably is above 1200p. Use the native dual-link DVI on the card

the rest, buy another $30 active DP->single link DVI adapter
 
Yeah. They're limited to two ramdacs. That's why nvidia can only do surround with 2 video cards.
 
Ahhh makes sense, DP adapter here I come. Anyone use the ASUS one, seems cheap and has good reviews.
 
Yes, but you'll notice in the last picture in the link you sent me it comes with 6 adapters. 2 HDMI, 2 DVI, 2 DP.
 
I use the Sapphire adapter which is on Newegg for $27 shipped, and it works just fine. I'm sure the Asus one works fine as well--by this point it seems that most of the issues with active DP adapters have been sorted out.
 
Looks like it comes with 2 Passive DVI adapters, 2 minidp->DP adapter, and 1 passive HDMI adapter. 2 passive adapters can be used at once. You will have to pick up a single link active mini display port adapter to dvi. This should work.
