Hey everyone, looking to get some advice on a setup i want.

Currently i have a pc connected to a 23" acer hd monitor.

I want to add a second 23" and then next month add another 23" monitor so i can use eyefinity.

I have a 5770 gpu. the outputs on the card are

dvi output
displayport output
hdmi output

now, i know i can connect 3 monitor's to this and get my eyefinity working.

BUT....

i also have a 32" tv mounted on the wall which i also want to connect up so i can watch movies off it

so, any suggestions on what i can do?

oh, i also have a 8800gt in the pc thats setup for physx.

You should be able to run the TV off the 8800GT if it is just for watching movies. I don't have first hand experience with eyefinity yet, but for my multimonitor setup I have it configured very similar. My 3rd monitor is hooked to my 8800GT physx card and my cable box. It is only used for either watching movies or TV.

I'm not sure if the way eyefinity works would affect using the 8800gt just for your video, but it might. My assumption is that it would treat the three displays connected to the ATI card separately as a single display and allow you to continue running the TV off the 8800.

Yes, you will be able to run your 32" off the 8800 GT. I do the same thing: I have 3 24" hooked up to my 5870s, then a TV hooked up to a 9800 GT.

you need windows 7 to be able to run both an ATI and NV card

also, I'm not sure how well your 5770 will be able to game at 5760x1080

Yeah run the TV off of the Nvidia Card. If you don't have Win 7 I recommend doing dual boot with XBMC on Ubuntu and using VDPAU(hardware acceleration) on the NV as well as using a something like Firefly for control.

If you require DVR services in Ubuntu MythTV might be something to look into as it seemed to work pretty well with my Hauppage HD USB tuner when supplied with a capable signal input source.

You can also run at lower Eyefinity resolutions as long as that resolution is supported by all 3 monitors. You might have to get a little gimmicky to get those resolutions(changing res on each mon before setting up group?) for instance in eyefinity you can game @ 5760x1200, 5760x1080, 5040x1050,3840x1024, 2400x600, and there's probably more I haven't tried

nice one guys thanks!

ill connect the tv to the 8800gt.

and about eyefinity on the 5770, ive read a few reviews and as long as you dont go crazy with AA and ultra high settings, it seems to be fairly decent!
Im waiting for the ferma to come out, and if they arnt great, then ill wait for eyefinity to be crossfire capable.

Sure, but running an LCD on anything but native rez looks bad :/
