Really, I only have an issue with Dirt Showdown. In Dirt 3 I always got triple digit FPS, but with this game on this card(first computer in the sig) I get an average of 28fps, with a low of 17fps. I thought this was the degradation issue discussed earlier, but 3DMark11 still gives me a score in the mid-8000's and every other game runs smoothly with the settings at the absolute brink. But Dirt Showdown runs like ass.

Dirt Showdown runs poorly on GTX 600 cards. The problem is when you turn Advanced Lighting and Global illumination ON the performance tanks.

If you turn both those options OFF you should get good performance. Those 2 options really stress the graphics cards with some very complex DirectCompute based lighting calculations. The bandwidth of the HD 7900 cards along with the compute performance is making a huge difference. Unless Nvidia can change things with a miracle driver and prove otherwise.

theres a few games that dont work as well as they should. drivers better improve this shit

Well turned off both those settings and it played beautifully! Now wishing I waited a bit for a Radeon 7970, have seen a few awesome deals lately. It's really a great time to be an enthusiast!

the HD 7970 performs very well in the most demanding games and scenarios. IMO its the fastest card of this generation of GPUs.

There are games that suit the 7970 better and other games that suit the 680 better. Showdown is a "Gaming Evolved" title. In some GE titles, SLI has been broken at launch, I wonder if that was deliberate and if there are other things going on...
