Extra slow data transfer rates

So I'm moving lots of files around since i added a WD SATA3 3TB HDD on my computer and one of the drives (WD SATA2 1.5TB) seems to be fucked up.

Transfer rates keep going down. I've searched on internet for a solution and came up with the "DMA reverts to PIO" page ( http://winhlp.com/node/10 ). But that doesn't seem to be the case here. I'm on Windows 7 and whenever i check in device manager under IDE ATA controllers, drives are set to UltraDMA Mode 5 and enable DMA is checked.

I tried moving around the SATA cable and it seems to reset the speed to ~50MB/s while transfering but goes down from there and if i cancel and try again then I'm at under 1MB/s...

I know I'm not the only one which have this problem but I can't seem to find the solution :/

I've experienced slow down in transfers for a long time btw, but now that i have to move around LOTs of files this is sickening!
 
Could you try the transfer by moving the drives to another computer? Just thinking to eliminate some other possible culprits? I've seen cases were drives going bad resulted is slower and slower transfers.
 
I have seen that happen to. You have another sata cable? I have seen some crappy sata cables cause slow speeds and even not allowing the drive to been seen.
 
I don't have another computer in hand atm so can't really tell for now but that's a good idea.

I probably have a couple SATA cables bought on eBay from China lol, I will get new ones see if it changes anything (that would be so awesome)!
 
I have Asus Rampage IV Extreme & 3930k @4G7 Bclk 133.6 ,with , 3 WD1002FAEX , 2 OCZ Vertex 3 MaxIops 240Gb (last Firm) and is worst mobo for HD/SSD / RAM bandwith , I tired of trying a lot of ahci drivers .
And too in RAID0 ports , and with IBM1015 @LSI9211 IR mode. WORST MOBO EVER I have
Asrock Fatal1ty z68 @2700k destroy them in HD/SSD / RAM bandwith .

Test you mobo bandwith ports & more ahci drivers.

what kind of files,?

many many small files or large ones?

try to transfer a single 1G or larger file and see how the speed is?

many small files will always go all over with speeds.
