Extra optical drive kills my system?

I have a 300w power supply and want to add an extra optical drive. Will this be too much for the power supply? Here's my current system specs (before the addition of the drive):
AMD Athelon64 3500+
1GB ram
1 hard drive
1 optical drive
1 media card reader
256 MB ATI Radeon X700 Pro video
2 fans (w/ neon lighting) :)
1 Network card
I've also got a handful of USB peripherals plugged in.

Thanks for any help.

Your system looks like its running at capacity right now. Yeah, you should probably get a better power supply.

12 watts for a DVDRW will not make a difference. That said, you should probably get a higher capacity PSU anyway; as others have said you're pushing things now, and running near capacity means running hotter, running hotter means things don't last as long.

If you're not planning on a massive upgrade (Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 8800 series card, etc...) any time soon, the $50 Xclio GoodPower 500watt PSU will do /great/ for you. Order one if you can.
