Extra drive in Mac Pro as time machine?

Hey guys, just wondering if it was possible to use one of my extra drives in my mac pro as a time machine backup drive seamlessly? Sorry if dumb question. Never tried.

If yes, what 2tb hd should I buy? Having been keeping up with it for a while now.

Dude just get a cheap, slow hdd. Like the green series from western digital. That'll work great
 
It's just a backup drive, so whatever best bang for the buck deal you can find is fine.
