I was browsing NewEgg when I came across the Crosair Xtreme Water Cooling System.

I haven't really seen this item being discussed about on this section of the forum or I probably missed it because I'm not worrying about extreme cooling at the moment. Anyways, I am wondering if anyone owns this product. I hope to hear some comments or reviews from your personal experience.

How does this product match up to the Koolance Exos? They are both in the same price range. Does the Corsair cool better than the Koolance or vice versa?

I'm a beginner at watercooling and I might want to get one of these external water cooling systems so I can start on this type of cooling. In the future I will build a custom one but in the meantime, I just want to get an idea on how it works and I want to start off very easy.

The [H] did a review of this unit a while ago. Here is the link to it.

I've never used a corporate job watercooling system, so I can't help with personal experience. However, if you are new to watercooling and don't plan on overclocking, then one of these units may be what you're looking for.

I have one of the newer untis that has a different block than in the [H] review. There is another updated review at madshrimps I think. Mine is great and the new block is much better. There is also an additional air filter in the external case. dropped my temps by nearly 10 degrees under load from an Alpha PAL at 250MHz FSB on an IC7-G with a 2.8C. Installed in about an hour and works better then an EXOS for less money. Not as good as a DIY, but if you don't have the time or are inexperienced, it is not a bad choice. After this unit I won't be going back to air cooling for awhile and will probably DIY for my next project but this is a good quality unit. It's pretty quiet and the Turbo isn't needed.

Here is another recent Hydrocool review:

IMO, best way to find out would be to e-mail the company and ask.

The answer to this question is yes it will. But...

The Exos is a decent protable cooling system that will give you decent temps... Notice I said decent, not good. It is easy to install and very quiet. However, it will cost you about $250 to install. For that kind of money, and even less, you can build a custom cooling system, either internal or external that is much better. One that has more water flow, one that has better temps, and one that is upgradeable if you want.

Depending on how good a shopper you are you can build a custom system from $140 to $175 that will out perform the Exos, rather than spending $250 for less performance and on something that is not upgradeable.
